REPORTS ON THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF NACSCOM SETAPAK DAY CENTRE ON 17TH JANUARY 2009.

NACSCOM  second Day Centre was officially declared open by Y.B. Datuk M. Saravanan, Deputy Minister of Federal Territories on 17th January 2009. Initially Y.B. Dato' Seri Haji Zulhasnan bin Rafique, Minister of Federal Terrritories had agreed to attend the function. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, he was unable to attend and he was represented by his deputy Y.B Datuk M. Saravanan.

The function started at 10.00 am with a welcoming speech by Datuk Lum Kin Tuck, NACSCOM President, followed by a speech by Mr. Eric Wong, Marketing Director of IBM Sdn.Bhd. Y.B. Datuk M. Saravanan, Deputy Minister of Federal Territories gave a speech and praised NACSCOM and specifically mentioned Datuk Lum for his untiring effort in championning for the welfare of the senior citizens. After that official speeches, Y.B Datuk M. Saravanan, Datuk Lum and Datuk Dr. Soon gave a Press Conference regarding NACSCOM's activities. Later, the dignatories were led to visit the exhibition booths comprising health screening and dental checks by DBKL, City Traffic Police Dept and the Anti Dadah Authority, water colour painting, origamy and leaf weaving. 

With the help of the local resident association, they put up cultural shows and dances, singing and magic shows. Many individual organisations/ companies came forward to participate in the exhibition and contributed towards the success of the function. They are as follows:-

An interesting part of the function is that the food and drinks were prepared by the local residents in this area who have come forward to cook the delicious food on a Gotong Royong basis. This really reflects a spirit of Muhibbah and co-operation among the various races in this area. This is what Nacscom is trying to promote beside championing for the welfare of all the senior citizens in this country.

All in all, the event was successfully organized and signifies another successful milestone to move forward for NACSCOM in the years to come.
